Why accessWORKS?
Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC), 2010 Legacies Now and the BC Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Secretariat share a commitment to social inclusion and sustainability, in particular to ensuring that persons with disabilities benefit fully from economic opportunities leading up to, during and after the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
The disability community of British Columbia applauds this commitment and has positioned itself to take full advantage of it. Together, a consortium of disability missioned organizations created accessWORKS as a mechanism to mobilize their capacity and capture opportunities, including those flowing from the Games.
The business and corporate community see that employing and partnering with persons with disabilities makes good business sense — not just in 2010, but always.
